Senior JavaScript Engineer

We promise you haven’t worked with anyone like us before.  We’re a Minneapolis, MN-based early-stage tech company that’s changing the way businesses do marketing, lead generation, and conversion rate optimization online.  With a growing team that works closely together, we move fast and enjoy what we do.

As a Senior JavaScript Engineer, you’ll play an integral part in helping to design, develop, and deliver innovative software solutions to our clients. We are looking for creative JavaScript developers who are senior in their craft and have focused primarily on application development with solid experience building fast, lean code in order to create powerful single-page applications. This position will consist of creating and designing contemporary new features, collaborating cross-departmentally, and communicating with our customer base to better understand product direction and goals.

Come join the fun and build something great with us!

What you’ll do:

Your day-to-day responsibilities will shift and grow but to start with, you will:

  • Collaborate with small teams to discover and understand market and customer problems, design innovative solutions using JS and SASS and build feature-rich applications that will fuel exponential growth of our marketing platform. You will pair with another team member and deploy to production on your first day!
  • Write code that powers the number one landing page builder and the leading marketing automation tools. Within your first 30-days on the team, you will be responsible for contributing to and owning features that you will be deploying on a weekly (if not daily) basis.
  • Work on cutting-edge front-end products that marketers use every day. You will be a part of a small, autonomous team where your contributions will help drive the success of the deliverables.
  • Automate tests (TDD and BDD) to ensure quality while you’re building incredible, solutions. Because we have no QA department, you will be writing your own unit tests from day one, performing Test Driven Development to produce thoughtful, maintainable code and squash bugs before they happen.
  • Interact with the market and our clients to discover and better understand the problems and opportunities that exist. Our customers are our everything and the driving force behind what we do! Our customer's mission must become your priority.

What you’ve done:

You have a unique combination of skills, talents, and mindset, including:

  • You are a senior developer with at least 5 years of professional experience in web app development where you have used a variety of JS frameworks/flavors (specifically experience w/ React or Angular 2)
  • In addition to JavaScript, you are fluent in CSS or SASS (3+ yrs experience) and you're at home writing single page applications
  • You have 3 or more years of full-suite testing experience and you’re comfortable writing automated tests to ensure the quality of the code you write
  • You have personally worked on large, interesting, complex web applications using established JavaScript frameworks and libraries, and can show us what you've done
  • You are able to pinpoint and debug performance problems or bugs with client-side applications on any modern web browser
  • You have the ability to speak directly with customers to figure out areas of opportunity for new features. Shipping new features and fixes is exciting for you
  • You can speak to the challenges that face web developers: use of frameworks vs. in-house code, code optimization, cross-browser development, speed of delivery, how to select 3rd party libraries, performance and stateful applications…
  • You’re always looking to try out the next big thing and have an incredible passion around the evolving state of JavaScript and the modern web

Who you are:

  • You always look for new things to learn and new ways to leverage your knowledge - becoming a Subject Matter Expert that people can trust would give you great pride
  • You have a passion for collaborating with a team in order to discover the best solutions
  • You automate everything! Literally. And you rarely (if ever) manually fix the same problem twice
  • You know what “fast-paced” really means and you embrace it
  • You never say “That’s not my job.”

  • A vibrant and devoted team, who still finds time for fun.
